This week, the National AIDS & STI Control Programme (NASCOP), supported by The Global Fund Grant and the Kenya Red Cross, convened a two-day meeting with all key and vulnerable populations stakeholders. This event is pivotal in addressing the higher risk of HIV transmission among these populations and emphasize the importance of preventing new infections through combined prevention methods.
Key and vulnerable populations remain at higher risk for HIV, making targeted prevention efforts crucial. The meeting underscores the necessity of continuous engagement with the community, county officials, donors, and implementing partners to achieve effective prevention and treatment outcomes.
The meeting provided an opportunity for best practices sharing where shareholders shared successful strategies and interventions that are effective in different regions and contexts. It also focused on KVP program review, guidance on partner roles and promoting deliberation on issues that require consensus building as well as addressing emerging issues.
