In collaboration with CDC-Kenya, The Ministry of Health team, led by NASCOP’s Strategic Information Lead, Dr. Lily Nyagah, hosted delegates from CDC Zimbabwe, their implementing partners and MOH counterparts from the laboratory and digital departments. The team is in the country to explore advancements in HIV strategic information through digitization, highlighting Kenya’s commitment to modernizing HIV healthcare services with a patient-centered approach that could serve as a model for other countries.
Kenya is scaling up digitization of HIV healthcare services as a response to patient-centered integration approach, representing a forward-thinking approach best patient and program outcomes. This is a shift in how HIV healthcare services are delivered and managed.
Digitization allows for more efficient provision of patient care facilitating tailored treatment plans, monitoring adherence to stipulated guidelines, and ensuring continuity of care across facility and community settings for optimal health outcomes.
The digitized approach supports continuous evaluation of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs, enabling stakeholders, both clients and health care providers assess efficacy of services, get services, identify areas for improvement, and optimize service delivery.
The collaboration between Kenya and Zimbabwe is key to sharing knowledge and best practices in HIV management.
